The ethics inquiry policies and procedures are outlined here. The starting point for an ethics concern is the Ethics Ombuds Committee which is the designated neutral party that facilitates informal ethics matters. The Ethics Adjudication Committee is the receiver of requests to file a formal complaint. Complaints that move forward in the process are deliberated by the Ethics Adjudication Committee that renders a decision and determines the most suitable course for resolving the matter. Sanctions may apply. An Ethics Committee of the Board of Governors is established to address matters of ethics strategy and Code development and an Ethics Education Committee is charged with educating AOM members and volunteers about the Code. The policies and procedures are guided by the following principles: predictable, transparent, impartial, democratic, confidential, efficient, and educative.
